In his bestselling book, “Ask.”, Ryan Levesque tells the story of how he built his business from scratch.
He struggled until he paired copywriting (learned from Gary Halbert’s lessons) with market selection (from Glenn Livingston) to create a the ASK MethodTM.
These twin skills enabled him and his wife, Tylene, to build marketing lists, create offers, and build one of the fastest growing businesses in the world.

Testing Your Survey Funnel
As an ASK Certification Associate, I’ve noticed that many members of the ASK Coaching Community struggle to get their funnel to produce sales.
That’s perfectly understandable. After all, it takes tweaking and split-testing to get it right.
But split testing is like a “quarterback sneak” to cover the final few yards and reach the end zone. A “quarterback sneak” from the 50-yard line is a tough go.
And so it is with developing your funnel. If your starting point is too far off the mark, testing actually means “stumbling into something that works.”
Getting A Head Start
What gets you to a better starting point? It is attention to the structure and principles of persuasion.
Your copy simply must cover all the bases. If you leave out a critical step, your prospects will feel a touch of uneasiness that will blossom into full-scale doubt.
And at the moment of truth — your call to action — a smidgen of doubt can kill the sale.
Getting Your Message Right
A survey funnel with well-written copy has an unmatched ability to:
- Produce a steady, dependable income month after month, an income stream you continue to optimize and grow.
- Increase the size of your customer base so you can scale your business as much as you wish.
- Test new traffic sources, including affiliates, joint ventures, affinity marketing, podcast audiences, traditional advertising
- Create endless opportunities for cross-sells, up-sells, down-sells, add-ons, and repeat sales.
For my work with clients in the ASK Community, I developed a process to cover all the details, a process documented in my “ASK Copywriting Mind Map: a step-by-step guide to writing copy for ASK funnels”
Here’s a birds-eye view:

Agreement in Writing
If we’re able to agree on a plan that makes sense to both of us, I’ll ask for a refundable deposit. Then I’ll document our plan in a written agreement designed to protect both of us. If for any reason (or no reason at all) you elect not to go forward with the agreement, I’ll refund the entire deposit, no questions asked. When the agreement is authorized by both of us, the deposit will toward the copywriting fee, and the agreement will guide our business relationship.
Unlike most copywriters and funnel developers, I don’t require a big upfront payment. For established businesses, my compensation is based on an affordable payment plan and a small performance-based royalty. The payment plan covers my time for writing your copy and the performance-based royalty aligns our interests in creating a profitable funnel — If you don’t make money, I don’t make money.
Your ASK Funnel Copy
The end result will be a complete set of text files written using best practices and principles of persuasion — text to be used in each step of the ASK process to turn prospects into paying customers.
